MEASURING THE DAY

The clouds glow with hues of pink and dusty blue
Their shapes and designs softly merge together
Making time and existence stand still
A blue bird magically appears
I follow her flight
The wind’s arms lift her up… up…
I take a deep breath
Everything seems so different
Slower – Richer – Fuller
Suddenly, church bells chime
Taking my soul to a higher place
Now my heart is not so earth bound
Freely, I spread my wings
And soar like a blue bird
That’s how I plan to measure this day.
